This Week at Grout: Oct. 9-13th

Monday, Oct. 9 – T-shirt sorting work party

Look for shirts to be sent home early this week with your children for those of you that are new to Grout or pre-ordered shirts. If you don’t have it by the end of the week, please let me know.

Tuesday, Oct. 10 – Auction Planning and Playground Fundraising Meeting 

6:30-8 at Shut Up and Eat

It’s time to start focusing on the details and putting them into action. If you are interested in either the auction or the playground committee, come voice your opinion and hear what is being planned. Please note that the design of the new playground is aiming to be completed by February, so if you have any opinions on the design, you need to make them known soon if you haven’t already. You may have seen first-draft renderings which are being used as a starting point to figure out what the final playground will look like.

Thursday, Oct. 12th – Movie night

The movie, Sing, is FREE to attend. There will be pizza and concessions available for purchase at 5:30. The movie starts at 6. All children need to be accompanied by an adult.

Thursday, Oct. 12th – 4th grade field trip to Philip foster
Friday, Oct. 13th – No School

  • Wednesday, Oct. 18 – Late Opening
  • Friday, Oct. 20 – Gift Card (Scrip) Orders due 
  • Order forms will be going home with Thursday announcements.

There are also email groups for the Garden, GASP (emergency preparedness group), and the Urgent Needs Group (a group of parents and community members supporting the immigrant and refugee families at Grout). If you are interested in joining any of those groups, let me know and I will get your name and email address to the appropriate contact.
Speaking of other groups to join – the Urgent Needs Group is looking for volunteers for the Walking School Bus it has started from Kateri Park to Grout in the morning. Please contact Lisa Van Clock, myself, or the office for more information.
